90% Attendance Information/Requirements
90% Attendance Information:
The following reasons do NOT count against the 90% attendance requirement:
- COL - Student is on a college visit. Documentation required
- HBD - Homebound student, receiving instruction at home. This needs to be approved by health services.
- HOS - Student is hospitalized. Parents should notify the school if a student is hospitalized. Documentation required
- FTP - Student is on a school field trip.
- MED - Student is absent due to a Doctor/Medical appointment. Documentation required
- MHD - Student is absent and is taking a mental health day. Parents must report this absence. Counselor and/or social worker follow up with the student should occur upon student return to ensure supports are in place.(5 allowed per year per IL law)
- REl - Religious holiday.
The following reasons DO count against the 90% attendance requirement:
- FLU - Student is absent due to having flu-like symptoms. Flu symptoms include having a fever of over 100 degrees and a cough or a sore throat. In order for this to not count against a student, a medical note would be required.
- ILE - Student is absent due to sickness. In order for this to not count against a student, a medical note would be required.
- ISI - Student is absent from class and serving an in-school suspension.
- NXL - Nurse exclusion from school due to no physical on file or other reason.
- OSS - Student is absent from class and serving an out-of-school suspension
- UNC - Used only in high school for students absent without a valid reason, or no parent call
- VAC - Vacation
